Benefit Softball Tournament

July 2010
Palestine FD wins 3rd place!

The Palestine Fire Department participated in a softball tournament hosted by the Palestine Police Department benefiting the beautification of Reagan Park.   The Fire Department took home the third place trophy playing four games in the double elimination tournament.  The teams sponsor this year was the Palestine Firefighters Association  The department would like to thank the Palestine PD for hosting the benefit tournament again this year



2009
The Palestine Fire Department participated in a softball tournament hosted by the Palestine Police Department benefiting the Anderson/Cherokee County Crises Center.   The tournament was comprised of teams from the Anderson County Sheriffs Office,  Anderson County Probation & CPS Office,   Palestine Police Department and the Palestine Fire Department.   Palestine Fire  took first place going undefeated in the tournament.  The department would like to thank the Palestine PD for hosting the tournament.  We would also like to thank Sherwin-Williams and O'Reilly's for sponsoring our team.



Station Tours
Station tours are available at all Palestine fire stations.  The purpose of station tours are to educate the public on fire safety and provide the citizens a chance to see our stations,apparatus and equipment.  To schedule a station tour call Station 1 @ (903) 729-7100.  The following pictures are from a recent station tour provided for MOPS (Mothers of PreSchoolers) and their children.

4th of July Fireworks Show
The Palestine Fire Department provided fire and safety patrols for the cities  firework show.



YMCA Kids Day


National Night Out
The Palestine Fire Department made appearances at the national night out block parties.





Heritage Balloon Festival
Engine 1 was on stand-by and provided fire department information at the Palestine Municipal Airport during the Heritage Balloon Festival .



MDA Fill the Boot

Palestine Firemen and there families participate in the MDA Fill the Boot program at Krogers Food Store in Palestine.

Donations

Personnel of the Palestine Fire Department are shown with a representative of the local chapter of the Disabled American Veterans.  Palestine firemen purchased a motorized wheel chair and donated it to the DAV chapter to be given to a local Veteran who is in need of such a device.  Lt. Col. Alexander Nemer (USAF, Retired) was selected as the recipient.  Congratulations Lt. Col. Nemer

Captain Kyle Betterton gives footballs donated by Palestine Firemen to Sheriff Greg Taylor and Chief Deputy Troy Black of the Anderson County Public Safety Association.  These foot balls will be placed in care packages being sent to troops in Iraq from our area.
